Viva Las Vegas!
I recently took a trip to Las Vegas; it was my first time! The city was definitely sensory overload in every aspect; from the lights & décor, to the casinos & the shows, there’s an intermingling of the opulent and the tacky. The shopping was insane and at times overwhelming – even for a turbo shopper – but I picked up some great pieces.

I attended a Halloween party at Tao in The Venetian and revived my Disco Queen costume from last year.
I added a DIY crown to the costume to change it up, check out how I made it HERE.

It was an adventure exploring most of what Vegas had to offer. I have to be honest and say that Las Vegas is not my favourite city – what happens in Vegas should definitely stay there!
Bicycles & Vineyards
This past long weekend was filled with gorgeous weather and wine tours in Niagara on the Lake. Considering the great weather, touring from winery to winery via a bicycle made for the perfect day. It became less about the wine and more about being outside, enjoying the scenery.

Do-gooders
While in Aruba, I came across an environmentally conscious street vendor with a unique idea. The company is called do good Aruba and they re-purpose glass bottles sourced from local businesses, to create drinking glasses, tumblers, and vases. Aruba does not offer a viable glass recycling program, so these do-gooders were inspired to take matters into their own hands. The distinctive up-cycled pieces add character to your home decor or bar, while helping to support a great cause. I really love this initiative!

One Happy Island
After a great beach vacation, I’m feeling refreshed, relaxed, and ready to get back to reality. Aruba is truly one happy island and I had a blast exploring it. Here are my favourite shots from the trip…

We rented a jeep to tour the small island and ran into some Billy Goats…

Baby Beach located on the west tip of the island where the water is warm and swallow.

This was my view every morning from the Riu Palace.

In the spirit of the Euro Cup and my favourite team — I had to pay tribute on game day.
Joe Beef
While in Montreal, the search for a new restaurant lead us to repeat instances of Joe Beef popping up on ‘best restaurant’ lists for the city. I wanted see and experience what all the fuss was about; especially considering the lack of an online menu. The restaurant presented a very laid back vibe, and the decor was ripe of vintage rustic elements. We started with the oysters, enjoying ourselves a tad bit too quickly, enough to only capture a pic of empty shells – they were delicious! As we savoured our first bite of their 18oz. sirloin steak, aptly named “Steak Joe Beef”, we quickly realized why this restaurant came so highly recommended – the steak was beyond flavourful and tender, the fries were rich, and a simple green salad with white wine vinegar was the perfect complement. Believe it or not, I polished off the entire steak… and then there was dessert. Initially, I objected, but was convinced to try the raspberry sorbet by our charmingly persuasive server.
We had a great night, the food and our service was excellent. If you’re in town, I would definitely recommended checking out Joe Beef whether it’s for the Beef, or one of the their other uniquely wonderful dishes.

La Belle Ville
I spent the long weekend in Montréal, and had a wonderful time enjoying the city in the gorgeous weather. This gave me the perfect reason to visit my favourite spot in Jacques-Cartier Square, the “Jus Frais” (Fresh Juice) stand. It serves up my ideal treat, refreshing lemonade with a blend of mint leaves (this is key); the perfect complement to the summer like heat!

New York, New York
The surprise of warm summer weather this past weekend was reminiscent of my last trip to New York City. I spent most of my time wandering the neighbourhoods, feeling inspired and enjoying the sights. New York will always be one of those cities I visit and feel right at home in. Here are some of my favourite shots from the trip…

Flatiron District

Madison Square Park

I loved the bright contrast between the neon yellow and grey chairs in High Line Park.

A pizza delivery bike parked a midst the late night rush.

I spent one of my final afternoons in Central Park; enjoying the scenery & some cotton candy.
