Country Chic

I wanted to create a wreath that would add a little warmth during the winter months. The shabby chic quality of the burlap is a perfect combination with the glamour of the chiffon roses & stands of pearls. Touches of brown ribbon detail evoke a warm and inviting atmosphere. See below for step-by-step details…

Enchanting Table

When decorating, I love mixing natural elements with modern décor. In my most recent DIY make-over, I took a dried out tree stump and painted it white to create a rustic chic side table/stool for the apartment. I was debating on removing the bark, but in the end decided that I preferred the added texture when painted. I added a Carnival de Paris candle (recently gifted) and my mini Eiffel tower (also gifted by friends) to complete the look.

DIY: Dress it Yourself

I’ve had a love affair with the Lanvin brand for a number of years - chic feminine
Parisian design, with an edge. I love dresses that are unique in shape or structure;
so a dress from the Fall 2011 Lanvin collection was the perfect inspiration.

An upcoming wedding gave me motivation to dust
the cob-webs off my sewing machine, and set my DIY dress project into motion.

While browsing the fabric district of Queen Street West, I came across a micro-fiber
with a shiny reverse side. This gem also happened to be on sale, so the fabric,
zipper, and thread came to a total of $36 and change.

After many an evening, trials, and tests;
I was both thrilled & relieved to finally have it come together.
