La Belle Ville

I spent the long weekend in Montréal, and had a wonderful time enjoying the city in the gorgeous weather. This gave me the perfect reason to visit my favourite spot in Jacques-Cartier Square, the Jus Frais (Fresh Juice) stand. It serves up my ideal treat, refreshing lemonade with a blend of mint leaves (this is key); the perfect complement to the summer like heat!

Enfant Terrible

Jean Paul Gaultier has been pushing the boundaries of gender ideals since the mid-seventies. Whether it’s his use of the iconic stripes, cone bra, or corsets; the intricacies of Gaultier’s designs always take my breath away. A recent visit to Montreal, allowed me to attend his exhibit at The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, on its final day.

Upon entry, you’re greeted by a gallery of mannequins with life-like, hologram faces; blinking, smiling, and interacting with the audience – one of Gaultier himself was describing the experience he created. The exhibit is a retrospective of his work, which most definitely speaks for itself…

I had a really hard time narrowing down the imagines, which is why I’ve also added an
image gallery. I hope you find his mastery in the art of design just as inspiring as I did.
